There are two main types of newspaper: “broadsheets” and “tabloids”. Broadsheets are often larger than tabloids, and are “serious” newspapers. They present the news in detail, and do not have many stories about the private lives of famous people. Tabloids, on the other hand, are much more interested in news and scandals involving stars than they are in serious news. They often have very big headlines, particularly on the front page, and have lots more photographs.

Every day is a market day in Hong Kong. The Chinese housewife is so insistent on fresh food that she will go to market not just once – but twice a day to make sure her family has the very best.
The Chinese have a great variety of green vegetables which are known to be not just good for people but also good for the soil. So Chinese markets have a much larger variety of green vegetables than anything else. There will also be many different types of fruit (most of it imported), along with thousands of ducks which arrive daily in Hong Kong from mainland China, and many varieties of fish.

If you happen to like a famous singer or film star, you can join a fan club. Fan clubs started in the 1950’s when popular singers appreciated their fans so much that it was decide to start a club so that they could find out more about their favourite star. Fans could receive signed photographs and information sheets, and all the latest news about concerts, new records, and so on. Nowadays, if you are eager to find out more about singers, film stars or sports clubs, you can easily join a fan club on the Internet, which appeals to those who can’t be bothered to write letters, and wait for replies. If you’re fond of watching soap operas, for example, you can discover all the details of the actors’ lives. While many stars appreciate this enthusiasm from their fans, unfortunately, not all of them are pleased by all the attention that they bring. Many famous people are very keen on preserving their privacy, and do not enjoy having their private lives made public. Some fans become so attached to their idols that they even try to follow them everywhere they go.

Satellite radio
1. A satellite radio or subscription radio (SR) is a digital radio signal that is broadcast by a communications satellite, which covers a much wider geographical range than terrestrial radio signals. Satellite radio offers a meaningful alternative to ground-based radio services in some countries, notably the United States. Mobile services, such as Sirius, XM, and Worldspace allow listeners to roam across an entire continent, listening to the same audio programming anywhere they go.
2. Radio services are usually provided by commercial ventures and are subscription-based. The various services are proprietary signals, requiring specialized hardware for decoding and playback. Providers usually carry a variety of news, weather, sports, and music channels, with the music channels generally being commercial-free.
3. In areas with a relatively high population density, it is easier and less expensive to reach the bulk of the population with terrestrial broadcasts. Thus in the UK and some other countries, the contemporary evolution of radio services is focused on Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) services or HD Radio, rather than satellite radio.
